基本解释

assume的基本意思是“想儅然”,即指人假定某事物是真實的,它可以指事物本身的真實性,也可以表示事物會發生什麽樣的結果。
assume作“假設”解時,指在証據很少或者存有異議時,甚至在根本沒有証據的情況下進行推測,含有較強的武斷成分。
assume還可表示“裝出一種虛假或騙人的表情”。
assume後可接that從句,表示“假定某人會…”。
assume與presume都有“假定”的意思，但是前者衹是一種假設，後者是認定是正確的，真實的，在等待被認定；
assume後常接that，而presume後不接that。I assume that you can do it. 我假定你能做。I presume you can do it. 我認定你能做。
